About Smoothbore Vizslas
We are a small, family oriented NAVHDA registered kennel located between Stevens Point and Wisconsin Rapids in central Wisconsin. Less than  1/2 hour south of  public dog training grounds (affectionately known as The Mead), we have easy access to some of the nicest training and testing grounds in Wisconsin. Just north of the Buena Vista prairie chicken grounds, we take full advantage of the opportunity to run the dogs on wild birds when the nesting season is over. While we are a bit south of traditionally strong ruffed grouse areas, a brief road trip ensures plenty of wild grouse and woodcock in the fall and early winter. Annual trips to the western Prairie for huns, sharptails, pheasants and waterfowl round out our typical hunting season.

We breed an occasional litter and train our own dogs, from puppyhood to Versatile Champions.
